The FinnSkills Competition!

 

FinnSkills 2005 thanks
all the competitors, trainers, observers and other visitors!

In 2005 Finnish vocational education celebrates its jubilee year by staging the Finnish National Skills Competitions FinnSkills 2005 (Taitaja) in the midst of the Turku Archipelago landscape.
Over 500 competitors will occupy the Turku Fair and Congress Centre as well as the Elysée Arena during 19. - 21.1.2005

41 vocational trades’ championship-titles, from autobody repair to landscape gardening, will be contested during the FinnSkills 2005-competition. The competition consists of semifinals in 28 WorldSkills Competition trades as well as Taitaja 9 (FinnSkills 9) hand skills competitions for comprehensive schools’ students.
The Team Finland for the 2005 WorldSkills Competition will be announced at the FinnSkills 2005 closing ceremony!

International competition

We have reserved for our foreign partners the possibility to participate in 29 competition skills. In each of them there are one or two competition places. Along with participating in the competition or instead of it, there is a possibility to carry out partial performances as well as to exhibit work performances

Seminar

“Made in Europe”, an international seminar on new challenges in vocational education will broaden the forum in the vocational training field.
You will also be able to find a new career or job at the “NextStep” job and education exhibitions!

What?

The FinnSkills competition “Taitaja” is an arena for young top talents to compete every year for Finnish Championships. The competition is organised by the City of Turku in co-operation with Skills Finland.

When?

FinnSkills Competition takes place in January 19th - 21st 2005

Where?

In 2005 the competition will place in Turku, the South-West Finland.

Participants?

All trades are arranged on basic qualification basis, but most of the trades are available for more skilled people as well and appreciated as semi-final competition for WorldSkills 2005 Competition.

For our foreign partners we do not have age limit, however all Finnish competitors must not be older than 20 during the competition year.

Participation fee?

Participation fee is 150 € per competitor. The fee covers transport in Turku, meals, dresses and a bag full of offers, free tickets to social events etc.
Participation fee for observers and trainers is 75€.

The fee does not cover accommodation! Please see the list of hotels available below.
